Executive IT Support

The executive team of Janssen uses their computers differently than any other end user. They don't use their computers in the same way or have the same needs that most employees do. IT Support for such a special user group requires both special attention and, most likely, a unique manpower approach.

Executives, due to their level of responsibility and hectic schedules, have little time or patience when it comes to failing computers, conflicting software, and login hurdles.

Preventive Maintenance:

If you prevent it, you don't have to cure it !

  • Once a quarter a VIP technician / executive support will perform a thorough check up of the IT items of the executive (including tablets, phones)
  • Executive support checks every month if all subscriptions for tablet & smartphone are still suitable (important for Freq. Travelers)
  • Upgrade of hard & software as soon as it is in stable phase (hardware shall be changed every 4 years or when necessary based on performance)
  • Executive Support briefly introduces new software tools, on request training can be given (eg. OneNote to SLT Kris Sterkens)
  • For Beerse: Pro Active communication with regards of outages, upgrades, maintenance
  • Optimization of Home Setup (WIFI)
  • Actions to be done during maintenance:   
  • Is operating system up to date
  • Is the hardware still up to date
  • Check Virus scanner
  • Digital Cleaning
  • Check synchronization with Onedrive ? h-drive
  • Check log files to see if any serious errors have occurred
  • Never delete without a backup
  • Sanity check from mobile devices

Profile of an Executive ICT Support:

The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Pharmaceutical sector.

The candidate would be ITIL certified and have spent several years specializing in supporting Windows and Mac, Desktop, Mobile (IOS/Android) and Infrastructure with a solid understanding of Cisco Network Administration (CCNA or CCNP desirable but not obligated). As well as all the expected qualities of an experienced Executive

Desktop engineer the following skills are critical to the role:

  • ITIL Certified
  • Several Years Active Directory administration.
  • Extensive Wintel (desktop / server) administration and implementation experience
  • Azure administration is a plus (AD, Virtualization, O365 backend)
  • Good troubleshooting skills with Performance issues (Windows, Mac, Ios, Android)
  • Experience of SCCM administration
  • Experience supporting Amazon Cloud Services
  • Mobile Management (Airwatch, Mobile Iron) administration + troubleshooting
  • Network trouble shooting, TCP/IP and general WAN/ LAN trouble shooting ,Wifi 4G, 5G
  • Cisco network implementation, administration and troubleshooting. Route and Switch experience (CCNA or CCNP desirable)
  • Willingness to want to aid in supporting all aspects of the IT service assisting other teams where required from helpdesk, support through to architectural design and implementation. (simple to complex)
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, written & verbal
  • Able to develop good working relationships with executives
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Team player
  • Project management experience is a plus

  • Understand needs of executives
  • Explain in understandable non technical way
  • Built trust towards the executive
  • Able to work under extreme pressure without loosing professional communication
