Pay rate range: £27 to £30 PAYE


Imagine your next project being part of our Made to Order (MTO) unit within Depuy Synthes' supply chain operations. You will be working in the position of a design engineer, steering the design of custom implants and instruments.




roles and responsibilities

  • Lead the design and case management of customised patient-specific implants &  instruments using CNC and 3D printing technologies. 

  • Complete technical assignments related to the design of patient-specific devices,  such as constructing CAD assemblies, manufacturing, and process drawings, as  well as the creation of manufacturing Routes and Bill of Materials. 

  • Engage with workshop staff to ensure that designs are manufacturable, correctly  packaged, and shipped according to specifications and within the agreed  timeframe. 

  • Coordinate with planning, purchasing & commercial teams to address issues  related to material delivery and work-in-progress (WIP) from sub-contract  vendors. 

  • Foster relationships with DePuy Synthes Sales Account Managers for case  management. 

  • Develop and lead documentation authoring for Technical Files in accordance  with device regulations. 

  • Uphold all aspects of the quality system in relation to the manufacture and  supply of patient-specific medical device products. 

  • Assist in project management tasks and facilitate updates to documents and  product codes. 

  • Manage and create ERP data in relation to custom devices.



how to succeed

You will have experience in working as a designer, preferably from a medical device industry, or similar industries and hold CAD experience.  


You will also bring:

  • Hold a degree in engineering or scientific subject area such as Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or Product  Design.

  • CAD experience, particularly Siemens NX, would be beneficial.

  • Clear, concise communication skills

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. 

  • Proactive, hardworking, and positive with a team mentality. 

  • Ability to work independently with a creative approach. 

  • Skilled in planning and coordinating multiple tasks/projects. 

  • Adaptable to a range of work assignments. 

  • Quality and compliance focused. 

  • Decisive and comfortable with critical decision-making. 

  • Pragmatic problem solver.

  • Open and supportive of change



Benefits

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for a minimum of 6 months with a very strong possibility of an extension.
