Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Imagine your next project powering the development of advanced therapies as part of a dynamic, close-knit team within a flexible work environment where your technical expertise directly drives critical safety standards, process improvements, and high-impact engineering projects.
At the Janssen Vaccines & Prevention site in Leiden, the Engineering-Validation-Maintenance (EVM) department powers the development of advanced therapies. As a dynamic and motivated team, we provide critical technical support across all utilities, production, and laboratory areas in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Here, Engineering drives an extensive project portfolio dedicated to sustaining and upgrading the facility, while Compliance and EHS ensure rigorous safety standards and the qualification of GMP-critical systems. Alongside them, our specialized Maintenance teams—spanning Utilities & Buildings, Automation, and Equipment—oversee end-to-end asset management across the entire site.
Aim of this role: As an EHS Engineer within EVM, you will help shape and execute the EVM EHS strategy and provide EHS governance for engineering, maintenance and project activities. You will own and improve key EHS processes, strengthen contractor safety management and coach employees and contractors to identify and manage risks effectively. Through practical leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement, you will help embed strong safety ownership across EVM.
