The Export Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting Johnson & Johnson’s export control compliance program in the European Union (EU) and Switzerland (CH). This role ensures that export activities comply with applicable EU, Swiss, and relevant international export control and sanctions regulations. The analyst will support export license applications, classification and screening processes, and daily export operations to facilitate compliant and efficient cross-border transactions.

You will support export license applications, classification and screening processes, and daily export operations to facilitate compliant and efficient cross-border transactions. This will involve:
Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of export license applications to relevant authorities (e.g., SECO in Switzerland, EU Member State authorities).
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., logistics, sales, engineering) to gather technical and transactional information required for license submissions.
Monitor license validity, usage, and conditions; ensure timely renewals and adherence to license limitations.
Maintain up-to-date records and audit trails of all export license activities.
Support export control classification numbers classification procedure (ECCN/AL/PL) for products, software, and technology under EU and Swiss regulations (EAR, OFAC, SECO,ECCN)
Conduct denied party, embargoed country, and end-use/end-user screenings using internal and external compliance tools.
Review red flags and escalate potential compliance issues in accordance with internal escalation procedures.
Maintain classification and screening documentation in accordance with recordkeeping requirements.
how to succeed
You will bring 2–5 years of experience in export controls, trade compliance, or international logistics, preferably within a multinational environment and familiarity with EU Dual-Use Regulation (EU 2021/821), Swiss Goods Control Ordinance, and relevant sanctions frameworks (EAR - OFAC - SECO - ECCN)
You will also bring:
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience in preparing export license applications and managing export control databases/tools.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities in English (German and/or French is a plus).
Proficiency with trade compliance software (e.g., SAP GTS, Descartes, OCR) and MS Office tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
