roles and responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling Systems (Maximo)

  • Lead the end-to-end setup, configuration, and optimisation of Maximo as the site CMMS for Facilities, including work order workflows, PM structures, job plans, inventory integration, and reporting dashboards.

  • Ensure system data integrity and leverage Maximo to produce meaningful maintenance metrics and KPIs that drive performance conversations and informed decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain a robust weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedule, ensuring level-loaded resource allocation and on-time PM completion.

  • Train and coach technicians, supervisors, and engineers on effective use of Maximo for work execution, feedback capture, and compliance.

Asset Maintenance Strategy & Tactics

  • Support the Facilities team in developing and refining asset maintenance plans, selecting appropriate maintenance tactics (preventive, predictive, condition-based, run-to-failure) based on asset criticality and risk.

  • Apply FMEA/FMECA methodologies to identify failure modes, assess risk, and drive maintenance strategy improvements.

  • Ensure corrective and preventive work activities are planned with resources available and downtime arranged where necessary.

  • Produce and maintain an annual PM lookahead to ensure effective resource planning across the year.

Lean & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion Lean principles within the maintenance planning function — eliminating waste in planning processes, reducing non-value-added activities, and driving standard work.

  • Lead the implementation and sustainment of 5S across maintenance workshops, stores, and work areas.

  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects that enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve maintenance efficiency.

Digitisation of Maintenance Activities

  • Drive the digitisation of maintenance workflows — transitioning from paper-based to digital work orders, inspections, and compliance records.

  • Leverage technology (mobile CMMS, IoT sensors, digital checklists) to improve data capture, real-time visibility, and decision-making.

  • Produce and present weekly/monthly Facilities KPIs, using data from Maximo to drive performance conversations and improvement actions.

General

  • Support the implementation of all Facilities engineering and plant strategic initiatives.

  • Implement safety/environmental requirements on purchase and installation of all new Facilities equipment.

  • Actively interface with cross-functional team members, always practicing good teamwork in support of day-to-day operating requirements.

  • Liaise with project teams to update equipment and system information as necessary.

  • All employees are responsible for minimising both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work they perform.
