Location: Remote (with optional hybrid work in Neuss, Germany)

Duration: Contract running until the end of August 2025 (opportunity for a contract extension)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay rate range: Competitive hourly rate

We are seeking an experienced GenAI Project Lead to oversee and drive cross-functional GenAI initiatives in the pharmaceutical domain. You will collaborate with various internal teams – including Sales, Marketing, Value & Access, Medical – while also coordinating with external partners. Your main focus is to ensure smooth project execution, from conceptualization to final delivery, leveraging large language models (LLMs), generative AI, agentic AI, and other advanced AI/ML solutions.

roles and responsibilities

  • Lead Cross-Functional AI Projects: Plan, coordinate, and execute GenAI initiatives across multiple business units (Sales, Marketing, Value & Access, Medical, Personal Productivity).

  • Collaborate with Internal Departments: Align project goals with stakeholder needs, gather requirements, and ensure timely communication of progress.

  • Manage External Partners: Oversee vendor relationships, define scope, monitor deliverables, and maintain quality standards.

  • Technical Input: Provide expertise on LLMs, agentic AI, and broader AI/ML frameworks, guiding the team on best practices and feasibility.

  • Project Planning & Reporting: Define milestones, manage resources, track budgets (where applicable), and report on project status to leadership.


how to succeed

  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML (hands-on development and/or project leadership)

  • Proven track record leading AI initiatives in the pharmaceutical industry (strong domain knowledge is essential)

  • Solid understanding of large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and agentic AI concepts

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and stakeholders (technical and non-technical)

  • Fluent English communication skills (written & verbal)


Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, able to convey complex AI topics to diverse audiences

  • Familiarity with various AI/ML frameworks

  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment
