The Logistics Process Specialist is responsible for analysing and streamlining logistics processes to enhance efficiency and optimise the overall operations in the Janssen Biologics warehouse and distribution center. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics operations, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities. The Logistics Process Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement process enhancements, and monitor performance to drive continuous improvement in logistics operations. The selected candidate will act as the Owner of the material supply processes at the Biotherapeutics site in Leiden.
roles and responsibilities
Process Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of existing logistics processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risks.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the distribution processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standard processes. Perform periodic document reviews in time.
Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as the distribution center team, warehouse management, operations teams in Leiden, global planning, to identify process improvement opportunities, resolve issues, and drive alignment.
Technology Utilization: Identify and evaluate technology solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), or other automation tools, to enhance logistics processes.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Define, track, and monitor logistics metrics to assess process performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular reports to management.
Continuous Improvement: Continually evaluate logistics processes and performance metrics, using data-driven insights, industry benchmarks, and emerging trends to drive continuous improvement efforts.
how to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in process improvement, supply chain optimization, or a similar role within the logistics or pharmaceutical industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex logistics processes and find opportunities for improvement.
Meticulous attention to detail to identify process gaps, analyze data, and ensure accuracy in process documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, convey complex ideas, and facilitate process change.
Proficient in logistics software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with compliance requirements, and industry standards.
Lean certification is preferred.
Proficient reading, writing and speaking in English.
Good understanding of the Dutch language is preferred.
