Role:
This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of the market access strategy for new medicines and indications to achieve rapid patient access for our medicines. This will be achieved by the development of robust strategic planning processes and high quality health technology assessment submissions founded on deep customer insights & delivery of optimal value propositions to HSE decision makers. This individual is also expected to understand the external environment through relationship building and engagement with the HSE. The individual will contribute to the company’s overall strategic decision-making process by liaising with internal stakeholders.
roles and responsibilities
Challenge, shape and endorse market access strategies and plans across new products launching in the next coming years.
Accountable for the development of rapid review and HTA dossiers to be submitted to the NCPE.
Develop the market access department plan in conjunction with senior managers and head of department and drive alignment of all plans and activities cross functionally.
Shape and implement market access strategy for current portfolio to achieve sufficient and sustained access for new medicines and indications
Drive alignment and integration of market access across other departments and brand teams through effective MAST leadership
Act as ambassador for Ireland market access needs with IBVT and CVTs, Health economics and Pricing and strategic marketing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national market access influencers, most notably NCPE, HSE and HIQA.
Monitor the transformation of the HSE and emerging stakeholder groups in particular budget holders, payers and patient advocacy.
Ensure all aspects of the IPHA agreement are fully understood and adhered to.
Challenge thinking to ensure that HTA plans are aligned to company strategies.
Copy approval for market access materials.
Market Access Budget management.
Key compliance requirements
Ensure safety reporting requirements (timely AE/PQC reporting) as set out in company policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and appropriately managed when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors
Ensure HCC and legal requirements (Fair Market Value, Transfer of Value rules, Promotional Materials rules) are fully understood, appropriately managed and complied with when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors
Ensure inspection readiness with respect to personal training compliance, and availability of recent CV and individualized Job Description
If commissioning contractors or third-party organisations, put contracts in place and provide training so that these individuals also act in accordance with Johnson & Johnson HCC requirements when interacting with Healthcare Professionals and report adverse events and complaints (as above).
how to succeed
A deep understanding of and experience of working with NCPE/HIQA and HSE.
Considerable knowledge of HSE decision making and funding processes.
Substantial technical expertise with health economics and pricing tools and development of Value Propositions
Proven experience in commercial negotiations
