Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Material Management Specialist, Raw Material Dual Sourcing located in Leiden.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Material Management Specialist to join our Logistics Centre of Expertise. In this role, you will play a meaningful role in leading the coordination of dual sourcing resilience initiative for raw material, essential for our production process of biotherapeutics solutions.

Your job is to evaluate all needs for dual sourcing of material and lead the projects for the introduction, qualification and implementation in the supply chain of the dual sourcing solutions. You will work closely with x-functional teams, including MSAT, Planning, Operations, Quality, Procurement but also be part of the global dual sourcing team, representing the Leiden site.

roles and responsibilities

  • Form the connection between planning, manufacturing and technical expert departments to introduce alternative materials

  • Shape solutions for material resiliency based on available options

  • Project leadership : Plan and execute the projects, document change controls 

  • Perform assessments together with SMEs to assess suitability of solutions

  • Govern GMP records related to material 

  • Escalations when there is possible impact on plan schedule or cost

  • Supply chain set up and management of the alternative material introduction

  • Communication with vendors and internal technical teams

  • Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements in material management to recommend process improvements and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. 


how to succeed

Education:

  • A BSc or MSc in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Analytical (Bio)Chemistry or related field with a strong protein and/or excipients background

Required: 

  • 5-10 years experience in pharma environment 

  • Analytical attitude with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.

  • Project management skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, in English (preference: also Dutch)

  • Pro-active can-do attitude, able to work independently

Preferred:

  • Experience working within a GMP environment
