Imagine your next project as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), where you will act as a trusted scientific partner—driving evidence-based clinical decisions and collaborating with top specialists to transform patient care.
As an IBD MSL, your core purpose is to bring deep scientific expertise regarding the safety, efficacy, and clinical placement of J&J Innovative Medicine’s IBD portfolio. You will empower HCPs and key decision-makers with the insights needed to make informed, evidence-based choices for their patients. Operating as the primary non-promotional contact, you will lead strategic engagement with key gastrointestinal specialists and healthcare leaders (Physicians, Pharmacists, Hospital Managers, and Scientific Society Board Members) involved in shaping patient care and driving therapy access.
They work in the interests of patients, the healthcare system, and J&J IM through quality scientific discussion and communication with Leading Specialists (LS) involved in the relevant therapy area; maintaining at least 80% of time externally focused and being seen as a credible and valuable partner in the delivery of care to patients. Through activities in line with the Medical Affairs Plan, they contribute to short-term and long-term company goals. They take a proactive role in looking for strategically aligned opportunities to work with LS to optimise evidence generation (IIS, CSS), liaising with GCO, RWE as appropriate.
roles and responsibilities
Uncovering insights that inform the company on clinical practice, HCP belief and understanding of data and HCP thought processes that guide their clinical practice.
Where relevant and appropriate, discussing the risks, benefits, and place of J&J IM therapeutics and other data to facilitate evidence-based practice and maximisation of patient benefit (e.g. responding to questions about J&J IM therapeutics from HCPs).
Identify and delivery proactive engagement opportunities in line with compliance requirements of ABPI code to support the educational development of a broad community of HCPs within aligned TA.

ABPI qualified, or committed to undertaking and passing the ABPI certification within the first 12 months of your contract.
Interact with press or media
Provide medical information standard letters to external customers
Create medical information standard letters
Monitor IIS
Final medical sign off for copy approval
Develop the strategy for the therapy area
Lead a code complaint
