Senior Process Engineer (Maternity Cover)

Location: Leeds

Working mode: On-site

Duration: 12 months

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Imagine your next project leading and supporting exciting manufacturing and process improvement initiatives while developing your technical and leadership capabilities in a high-profile engineering role.

The Senior Process Engineer owns and optimizes assigned manufacturing value streams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective production of medical devices.

In this role you will provide strategic technical leadership, direct process development and validation programs (IQ/OQ/PQ), lead continuous improvement initiatives, and influence long-term process and equipment strategy.

roles and responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on engineering leadership to achieve key business metrics (HSE, Quality, Supply, Cost) across assigned value streams.

  • Lead end-to-end process development and industrialization for complex processes and New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring scalable, robust, and validated manufacturing processes.

  • Develop, plan, and execute validation strategies and protocols including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ); review and approve validation deliverables and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Own and drive closure of quality actions (Audit Actions, NCRs, CAPAs), prioritize resources, and ensure sustained corrective and preventive measures.

  • Lead cost reduction and productivity initiatives (scrap/rework reduction, throughput improvements, consumables optimization) with measurable savings and sustainability impacts.


how to succeed

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in process development and industrialization for complex processes and New Product Introductions (NPI).

  • Expertise in developing, planning, and executing validation strategies and protocols including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).

  • Proven capability in managing quality actions including Audit Actions, NCRs, and CAPAs.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading cost reduction, scrap/rework reduction, throughput improvement, and productivity initiatives.

  • Strong technical and leadership capabilities with experience mentoring junior engineers and influencing long-term process and equipment strategies.
