The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful completion of structural projects. They coordinate design teams, manage project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure that all architectural deliverables meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role involves technical oversight, stakeholder communication, and risk management to deliver projects from initial concept through to operational handover.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing structural projects within healthcare or industrial environments. They possess extensive experience in architectural design, space planning, building codes, and sustainability standards. Proven leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with contractors, and delivering projects on time and within scope are essential.
roles and responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and implementation of architectural projects from concept through to operational handover. This will involve:
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of projects, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and Johnson & Johnson standards.
Develop detailed project plans, including technical specifications, scope, schedule, and cost estimates.
Lead the design, planning, and development of architectural concepts for new and existing facilities, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and Johnson & Johnson standards.
Review architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
Collaborate with engineering, facilities, and project stakeholders to integrate architectural designs with structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil systems.
Ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
Conduct site assessments, space planning, and feasibility studies to support project development.
Provide technical oversight and support during construction, commissioning, and project close-out.
Lead or review risk assessments, safety protocols, and quality assurance processes related to architectural work.
Manage and oversee permits, approvals, and documentation for architectural projects.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and external consultants to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.
Support sustainable design initiatives, including energy efficiency and environmental impact.
Contribute to continuous improvement of architectural standards, processes, and best practices.
how to succeed
You will need a strong background in managing structural projects within healthcare or industrial environments and possess extensive experience in architectural design, space planning, building codes, and sustainability standards. You will also bring:
Education:
Master's degree in architecture, structural Engineering or equivalent through experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
Required:
Minimum of 7 years of experience managing architecture projects in industrial, manufacturing, or healthcare settings.
Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
Knowledge of sustainable energy solutions and certifications.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to analyze technical data, develop solutions, and manage project risks.
English language: Fluency
German: Fluency
Project management certification (PMP, PMI-SP) is desirable.
