The Value Stream Leader will manage resources to add value to production operations whilst ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality and business systems. The role will be the catalyst for improvement in the performance of the production lines and drive operational excellence in the areas under their control.

Under general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

Travel Requirements: No more than 5%, limited to travel to other sites for training / experience.


roles and responsibilities

  • Manage the allocation of resources to ensure delivery of day-to-day operational demands whilst also supporting company-wide activities.

  • Facilitate problem identification and resolution to root cause with team.

  • Initiation/completion of deviations, remedial actions, CAPAs and other quality system processes.

  • To ensure customer service levels are achieved.

  • Ensure the technical and tactical execution of daily plant operations and focus on delivering business results related to company strategic imperatives. These include (but are not limited to) compliance, safety, organizational development, cost and innovation.

  • Enforce all GMP requirements.

  • Promote continuous improvement in pursuit of higher quality products and lead operational excellence within the value stream.

  • Ensure team effectiveness by providing clear goals and objectives which drive accountability at both a team and individual level.

  • Ensure target project launch dates and other key deliverables are achieved (such as launch quantities, production costs, etc.).

  • Input into the preparation of business plans, capital plans, resource plans and routine budget control.

  • Leadership of staff to include mentoring, coaching and development

  • Champion best practice improvement principles (e.g Process Excellence, Lean) to achieve incremental and transformational results.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

  • Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures



how to succeed

  • Minimum of HND in Scientific or Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience may take precedence over qualification if deemed appropriate.

  • Experience of managing multiple operational teams within a regulated manufacturing environment

  • Evidence of applying the principles of process excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Previous responsibility of one other functional area e.g. quality, engineering, supply chain is desirable.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives to deliver operational efficiencies.
