Project description:

The GEMINI consortium is a collaborative project, funded by the European Commission, composing of 19 partners globally. The main goal of GEMINI is to develop a validated computational model or a digital twin in health care for stroke patients which will help physicians determine the best treatment options for their patients. These digital twins will be validated by bench testing, patient specific cases, and a clinical trial. 

Embedded in a multidisciplinary group of R&D engineers and scientists at J&J MedTech Neurovascular, reporting to the NTI Manager, and in collaboration with GEMINI consortium partners, you as the Biomedical Research Engineer, will contribute to advancing in silico clinical trial methods in the field of acute stroke.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of hemorrhagic stroke pathology and its treatment in the acute setting.

  • Develop clinically relevant models of aneurysm for device design and validation.

  • Compile, analyze and interpret data.

  • Collaborate with colleagues internally and externally, with clinicians and academic researchers.

  • Communicate project progress and results.

  • Write procedures, specifications, and project reports. 

  • Write and contribute to articles for publications in peer reviewed journals and for presentation at international scientific conferences.




How to Succeed

  • Masters or a PhD in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine or equivalent. 

  • Experience in cardiovascular or neurovascular diseases, medical devices or instruments including catheters and stents would be desirable.

  • Candidate must be able to collaborate with researchers working on other topics in an international multidisciplinary team.

  • Candidate must possess a strong work ethic, creative problem-solving skills, and be capable of working on own initiative. 

  • Candidate must have excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated data review and statistical methods skills.
