The role:
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain Procurement team is recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Manager for the Secondary Packaging Category on a 12-month contract basis. The preferred location is Zug, Switzerland. We are looking to have the right candidate onboard in the role by 1 st October 2025.

Develop and drive the Global Procurement Vision to Partner and Shape Supplier Solutions that Transform Healthcare
Develop the vision, strategy and implementation for the sourcing of secondary packaging components (folding boxes, labels, leaflets) that will effectively meet the short- and long-term requirements of J&J packaging sites under the Supply Agility and Resilience Initiative
Serve as a key stakeholder and influencer in shaping the future supplier landscape within the Supply Agility and Resilience Initiative, for the sub-categories in scope
Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers, including data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end-to-end value
Develop and lead new supplier selection initiatives; Prepare and execute RFQs for complex sourcing decisions; Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers; Lead Master Supply Agreements negotiations with suppliers
Utilize insights generated from industry trends to identify opportunities for further supply chain improvements specifically related to the Supply Agility and Resilience Initiative
Build and maintain relationships throughout J&J that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of efficient approaches and solutions.
roles and responsibilities
20% - Category Strategy: Develops comprehensive, medium complexity category strategies; Conducts complex analysis and proactively offers insights based off analysis; Supports execution of strategy; Responsible for medium complexity category execution
30% - Contract Negotiation: Drive negotiation of Master Supply Agreements with incumbent and new suppliers
20% - Operating Procedures – In collaboration with Supply Chain partners, lead the development and formalization of operating procedures enabling a new way of working with suppliers within the Supply Agility and Resilience Initiative
20% - New Suppliers Selection – In collaboration with Supply Chain partners, orchestrate the selection process of new suppliers when applicable
10% - Monitor and report key insights relevant to the development of the broader secondary packaging procurement vision and strategy
how to succeed
Qualifications
Deep understanding of Procurement Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management and Overall End-to-End Business Operations and Practices
Knowledge of Packaging procurement in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desired
Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
Ability to understand and influence individuals
Working knowledge and experience in Sourcing Processes, Contracting, Negotiations
Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver
Demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives
Able to prioritize requests and propose effective alternatives when necessary
Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management, Category Management & Sourcing and Supplier Management) desired
Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
Ability to influence and understand differing needs of partners (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Engineering, Supply Chain)
