roles and responsibilities
As an Associate, External Partnerships (EP), you will be responsible for the operations that provide reliable and repeatable high level of service. You will execute the Planning Process between J&J Clinical Supply Operations and the Pack and Label (P&L) Vendors, seek opportunities for cost savings and support issue resolution. The External Partnerships Team is focused on delivering cost effective clinical supply in a compliant, efficient manner to ensure successful patient dosing. Partnering with Pack and Label Vendors, Procurement, Quality, Finance, Planners, Clinical Supply Operations, and Logistics will be key to success.
Serve as the primary point of contact between Study Team and Packaging and Labeling Vendors
Order management from Request through to supply deliverables to Depots
Manage Operational Cycle Times, Drive actions at order level for P&L vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), oversee Budget and Inventory management, supply coordination, and decision related to clinical supply activities resulting in uninterrupted supply to patients
Provide Services that adhere to applicable Johnson & Johnson SOPs, WI, policies, local regulatory requirements, ICH-GCP, etc
Create and maintain the individual project agreements (IPA) between CSC and P & L Vendors.
Obtain, review, and approve quotes and invoices
Lead the operational meeting per compound ensuring all deliverables are communicated to the CDC, CSI, MST, TSL, LI and ESP
Negotiate timelines and oversee the project progress to ensure timely release and distribution of the clinical material to depots
Review and approve relevant parts of source documentation (IMPA, IPA, SLED)
Support partnering with Supply Chain Coordination for incoming drug products, and ID sample shipments
Conduct issue resolution activities for supply aspects of clinical studies (e.g., receiving, packaging, inventory)
Establish strong internal collaboration within CSC and with the P&L vendors to ensure customer satisfaction
Ensure project timelines and business performance goals, objectives and metrics are achieved, and is consistent with GMP guidelines and all other compliance requirements
Escalate appropriately and supports resolution of critical risks and issues, including communication to External Partnerships management
Support audits performed by agencies and provide business support for vendor audits
May contribute as a mentor to a less experienced Associate External Partnerships for process improvement and training, as appropriate for business needs
May be required to support other functional tasks or projects as required to improve business processes and tools
how to succeed
Bachelor’s Degree: 0-4 years related supply chain, science, clinical supply related role or Pharm D
Experience with the following functions preferred: clinical supply pack/label/distribution, clinical trial operations, project management, pharma/bio research and development, inventory management
General knowledge of GxP principles
Knowledge of several of the following supply processes is a plus: supply chain relationship management, inventory management, supply chain management, supply planning, Lean 6 Sigma. Systems (e-marketplace, OMP, SAP R/3 or ERP), other cross functional business processes common to the pharmaceutical or process industry
Ability to work as member of a Global Team
Ability to identify process gaps based on data or root cause analysis
Ability to clearly and appropriately communicate to vendor sites and cross functional stakeholders in both written and oral forms
Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage complexity

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for until the end of 2025 initially and has a strong chance of extension. This is a hybrid role, also open to remote workers in Belgium.
