Location: Cork, Ireland (Hybrid working)

Imagine your next project where you will be working as a Data Scientist (Chemometrician) for BTDS (BioTherapeutics Development & Supply) where you will contribute to development Raman PLS Models, Chemometric Models, Visualization, Reporting & Statistical Analysis utilising mainly SIMCA and BI Visualization platforms (Tableau). 




roles and responsibilities

The Data Scientist will create chemometric models, deliver chemometric model development reports, chemometric validation reports, and work on improvements for aggregation from many sources of data to create platforms for standardisation of multi-attribute chemometric model outputs. 


This will involve: 

  • Working independently to meet deadlines while managing changing priorities to meet customer’s needs. 

  • Work independently on projects that will be both strategic and tactical in nature. 

  • Provide strategic direction using innovation and creative solutions. 

  • Use effective internal/external influencing, interpersonal skills, negotiation, and conflict management skills to resolve relationship and project issues.



how to succeed

You will have strong statistics & analytical skills with the ability to work independently across  multiple projects. We will also consider PhD Graduates that have completed a placement / project within this area. 


You will also bring:

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering or Data Science

  • Chemometric PLS model developer skills as a core competency

  • Experience working at a large biopharmaceutical company is desirable

  • Knowledge in R or Python is desirable for data manipulation and analysis

  • Experience with spectroscopic analytical technology e.g., Raman, IR

  • Experience with chemometric model techniques; MVA model, PCA model, PLS model

  • Strong expertise on biopharmaceutical manufacturing Large Molecule API processes 

  • Familiar with testing procedures such as PQ/OQ, source data verification, UATs and unit testing. 

  • Knowledge in Dashboard\Visualization Tools such as Spotfire, Tableau is desirable

  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Additional technical competencies in Sharepoint, Jira and other information technology systems are desirable.
