The role resides within the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) department at J&J Internal Medicines (IM) in Cork, Ireland. The role involves chemometric model generation, validation, and chemometric model lifecycle management to support various manufacturing processes. In addition, the position will include investigational support identifying process optimizations and/or root cause analysis.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Develop and deploy chemometric models to support the manufacturing of various large molecule processes.
Perform model maintenance and model updates where required.
Interact with relevant departments and personnel to acquire spectral reading for maintenance activities.
Identify, develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
Apply creative solutions to various data science projects.
Provide technical support to process investigations.
Create predictive models to help achieve optimal process performance
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
How to Succeed
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Science, Math, Engineering or other science related fields.
2 years of experience in a Data Scientist role
Excellent knowledge of chemometrics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Excellent computer proficiency e.g. Python, SQL, R.
Excellent analytical skill to identify gaps and root causes of issues and think out of the box to develop a solution.
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.
