Location: Groningen

Working mode: On-site (opportunity to work 1 day per week from home)

Duration: 12 months (opportunity for a contract extension)

Hours: 40 hours per week

roles and responsibilities

  • Provides focused technical expertise to promote workplace and product safety by identifying and monitoring potential hazards to people or property in areas such as machine safety and electrical safety.

  • Reviews and recommends content of health and safety policies and programs.

  • Provides content to emergency response plans and participates on emergency response team.

  • Implements and provides training on health and safety policies and programs developed for a site to assure that workplace conditions comply with all local government and company requirements.

  • Develops and implements an internal audit process for the site.

  • Facilitates compliance audits, assists management in conducting risk assessments, and participates on health and safety teams.

  • Conducts hazard assessments, determines root causes, recommends solutions to identified hazards, designs and implements solutions.

  • Reviews new regulations from outside agencies and new Johnson and Johnson worldwide environmental health and safety policies and procedures against current site programs and practices for gaps and/or compliance.

  • Participates as a health and safety representative in external audits and inspections by local government agencies.

  • Brings EHS perspective and aspects to ongoing site projects and ensures they are addressed according to company standards and regulations as well as meeting the site’s environmental obligations.

  • Supports permit application trajectories.


how to succeed

  • minimally a bachelor degree or equivalent

  • minimally 5 yrs in a EHS role in a manufacturing environment

  • thorough knowledge of national EHS legislation

  • knowledge of and/or experience with J&J EHS standards are preferable

  • experience with environmental permit application

  • Dutch and English proficiency

  • Microsoft Office, MS Teams, Agile

  • Soft skills: collaborative, team player, organised, structured, can work independently, approachable, communicator, positive and problem-solving attitude

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for 12 months with potential for extension depending on performance and site development.
