EHS Specialist
Location: Ringaskiddy, Cork
Duration: 12 months
Hours: 39, on-site
Working within the site EH&S team, this person acts as an SME and advisor to all Business Units / functions on site in relation to health & safety matters to support day to day base business. Assists with the design, implementation, maintenance and review of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate and industry requirements.
roles and responsibilities
Ensuring that all relevant company policies and standards, site procedures are adhered to and that all regulatory requirements are met.
Provide support to functions for Incident & accident investigation
Provides EHS support to the introduction of management of change process
Assist in the preparation, implementation and review of EHS Procedures and other EHS documents appropriate to the scope of site activities and in compliance with J&J requirements.
Provide technical support for the site risk assessment / JSA programme and assist in implementing appropriate control measures for identified risks.
Collating and reporting of EH&S metrics / KPIs
Develop, support and delivery of EHS training programs
Perform periodic walkdowns / audits / programme reviews to ensure compliance with safety and environmental permits, plans, policies and regulatory requirements.

how to succeed
3rd level degree in EHS, science or engineering or other related discipline.
At least 3 years experience in an EHS role in a regulatory environment
Sound knowledge of EHS legislation
Good written, oral communication & interpersonal skills
Highly proactive, mature judgement and decision making ability
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Self-directed & demonstrated efficient work methods, problem solving skills & ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Proficient in use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel & Powerpoint
Familiar with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) & health and safety management system (ISO 45001)
Preferred Requirements:
Green Belt certified
Process safety qualification / experience
Machine safety qualification / experience
