Imagine your next project as EHS Specialist at Johnson and Johnson. As EHS Specialist, you will be assisting with the design, implementation, maintenance and review of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate and industry requirements. You will be acting as an SME and advisor to all teams on site in relation to EHS matters.
roles and responsibilities
Primary role – support for environmental compliance / management
Provide support in the area of environmental compliance / management as follows:
Ensuring that all relevant company policies and standards, site procedures are adhered to and that all environmental regulatory requirements are met.
Support compliance with site IE (Industrial Emissions) license
Facilitates on site & off site environmental audits (EPA, ISO 14001, waste facilities)
Compilation of monitoring data and generation of environmental reports as required, for example the Annual Environmental Report (AER), Solvent Management Plan (SMP), etc.
Provides environmental compliance advice and support to site Facilities team in terms of effluent / air abatement systems & waste management.
Oversight of on-site environmental compliance continuous emissions monitoring systems and off-site environmental analysis programmes to ensure compliance with the site regulatory obligations.
Provides EHS support to the introduction of management of change processes focusing on assessment of environmental impacts.
Supporting development of environmental objectives & targets, Annual Management System Reviews and maintenance of Environmental Management System (EMS)
Collating and reporting of relevant environmental metrics / KPIs
Develop, support and delivery of EHS training programs, specifically in terms of environmental compliance.
Assists in completion of periodic site wide EHS Self Assessments / audits as required, for conformance with Site, Corporate and/or Statutory requirements.
Conducts independent environmental inspections of facilities and practices.
Supports site sustainability strategy
Additional scope – EHS base business
Perform periodic walkdowns / audits / programme reviews to ensure compliance with safety and environmental permits, plans, policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide support to functions for Incident & accident investigation
Assist in the preparation, implementation and review of EHS Procedures and other EHS documents appropriate to the scope of site activities and in compliance with J&J requirements.
Provide technical support for the site risk assessment / JSA programme and assist in implementing appropriate control measures for identified risks.

how to succeed
3rd level degree in EHS, science or engineering or other related discipline.
At least 3 years experience in an EHS role in a regulatory environment
Sound knowledge of EHS legislation
Good written, oral communication & interpersonal skills
Highly proactive, mature judgment and decision making ability
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Self-directed & demonstrated efficient work methods, problem solving skills & ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Proficient in use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel & Powerpoint
Familiar with environmental management systems (ISO 14001)
preferred requirements:
Green Belt certified
IED license experience
DGSA qualification
