Location: Cork, Ringaskiddy

Duration: 12 months

Hours: 39 hours per week. Full time on-site position

roles and responsibilities

  • Provide EH&S project support for projects at the Cork site.

  • Conduct EHS Impact Assessments (IA) as part of Management of Change process to ensure that all EHS requirements and J&J standards are incorporated

  • Acts as an SME and advisor to all project teams on site in relation to EHS legislation and J&J EH&S Standards

  • Implement J&J ‘EH&S by Design’ & OneCSS as required for projects

  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, JSAs, noise /IH/ergonomics / WRAPs (machine safety) assessments, FATs / SATs, and walkdowns as required

  • Support IA action closure & tracking

  • Perform periodic walkdowns / audits / programme reviews to ensure compliance with PTW requirements, IED licence, SOPs & regulatory requirements.

  • Collating and reporting of relevant metrics / KPIs

  • Lead / participate in incident / accident investigations & root cause analyses (RCA)

  • PTW Improvements – work with other functions to drive improvements in the site PTW process

  • Creates dashboards, power-point presentations and can track and trend KPI’s, assembling information into clearly written reports, documented findings or recommendations and communicate this progress in easily understandable manner to all stakeholders.



how to succeed

You will have excellent communication skills, excellent presentation and training skills and strong influencing skills. You will have great attention to detail and good problem solving skills. You will also bring:

  • Previous experience working to ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001 international standards, preferably within a Biopharma/pharmaceutical or related environment is required.

  • A relevant third level qualification in Science, Engineering or EHS, with at least 5 years’ experience in the environment, health and safety area is a prerequisite for the position.

  • Good overall knowledge of legal requirements and best practices in both Environment and Safety

  • Previous experience in dealing with regulatory agencies

  • Creates dashboards, power-point presentations and can track and trend KPI’s, assembling information into clearly written reports, documented findings or recommendations and communicate this progress in easily understandable manner to all stakeholders.

  • Strong technical skills and the ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner

  • Machine safety experience would be a distinct advantage

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills

  • A flexible approach, good priority setting skills and ability to deal with multiple tasks
