Roles and Responsibilities

Maintains and improves the status of laboratory equipment and automation systems key to the analytical operations at Johnson & Johnson IM within the DPDS TDS AD department. Provides technical support in both Equipment Life Cycle Management (ELM) and laboratory automation systems.

This will include:

  • Supporting the introduction, maintenance, and decommissioning of lab equipment in alignment with ELM procedures.

  • Supporting documentation requirements and technical specifications aligned with data integrity (DI) standards.Assisting with the management of software platforms including Empower, Chromeleon, Unifi, and ICE3.

  • Supporting new product introductions (NPIs) and base business needs by delivering creative technical solutions.

  • Collaborating with internal teams to improve the quality of data management, system processes, and automation standards.Participating in global projects and contributing to the evolution towards paperless lab systems.

  • Translating user requirements into technical specifications for both existing and new systems.

  • Ensuring compliance with Data Integrity and GMP Quality Systems.

  • Working within the Lab Operations ELM and Automation team to address urgent technical challenges.



How to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Computer Sciences.

  • Affinity with laboratory data acquisition and processing software; knowledge of database systems and visual reporting is a plus.

  • Experience with GMP Quality Systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English

  • Strong planning skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Analytical thinker with strong technical problem-solving skills.

  • Proactive and independent, with the ability to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.

  • Strong technical skills related to laboratory equipment and automation systems.

  • Familiarity with Data Integrity principles and documentation standards.

  • Automation proficiency and experience with lab system platforms.

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Excellent computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office, SAP).

  • Good understanding of compliance in Occupational Safety, Environmental standards, and cGMPs.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
