Location: Cork

The purpose of this position is the maintenance and upkeep of Mechanical distribution system as per the yellow line in Janssen Sciences Ireland UC.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end change control through on-site management processes.
Issue work permits and review risk assessments for project safety.
Chair meetings for operations related to day to day mechanical infrastructure and ongoing projects.
Coordinate and manage contractors on daily operations of utility equipment.
Operating all site Facilities related utilities to required cGMP standards (USP, EU, etc.). Oversee management and maintenance of black utilities ie Boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, generators and WWTP
Providing technical support for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal performance of manufacturing equipment. Maintaining timely, consistent, and precise records of all maintenance work done on the CMMS – SAP.
Ensuring equipment and processes meet quality standards through validation activities and adherence to regulatory requirements. Attendance at FAT or SAT tests as required.
Working with other engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, automation), as well as with operations, maintenance, and quality teams.
Addressing technical challenges related to equipment, processes, and systems, often requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Identify potential risks associated with project proposals, considering technical, regulatory and environmental factors. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the continuity and success of the project.
Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of designs, procedures, and validation activities. Completing all documentation in compliance with site procedures and GDP.
Reporting non-conformances and deviations promptly to the management to ensure compliance with EHS and GMP requirements.
Ensuring that personal training requirements are completed in compliance with site procedures. Continuous Improvement
Supporting investigation and resolution of problems.
Familiarization with Facilities maintenance best practices always.
Traveling to other J&J sites for training/meetings/projects as required.
Undertaking training to keep skills up to date.
How to Succeed
Educational Background:
A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (e.g., manufacturing technology).
Experience:
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role (manufacturing / industrial background) with project experience.
May include experience in process support, validation, or maintenance, depending on the specific role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in relevant software and tools, depending on the specific role (e.g., CAD, Meridian, SAP, simulation software, validation tools).
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills, self-motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
