Hourly rate: Competitive hourly rate (PAYE and Umbrella pay type options available, this role is inside IR35)
In preparation for the separation of DePuy Synthes from Johnson & Johnson, we are building a brand-new project team. We are seeking four Medium/Senior Level Finance Analysts to join Project Osprey. This team will be the engine room for standing up Local GAAP reporting solutions and ensuring a seamless transition for the new entity.
As this is a new team, you will have the unique opportunity to help shape processes from the ground up, supported by the core Statutory team during your onboarding.
We are looking for a blend of skills across these four hires. We encourage applications from candidates who lean toward either of the following specialties:
The Technical/Statutory Specialist: Deep experience in Statutory Reporting, Local GAAP, and managing the complexities of legal entity stand-ups.
The Data & Systems Specialist: High proficiency in Excel and experience manipulating large, complex data sets to drive reconciliation and reporting accuracy.
Flexibility on Seniority: We are open to both Mid-level and Senior-level profiles. While Fully Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is preferred, we are happy to consider Part-Qualified candidates with strong, relevant technical or data backgrounds.
roles and responsibilities
Stand up the L1 statutory ledger for Osprey legal entities (60-70), prepare opening balance journals and align automated bridge report to deliver accurate statutory P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules according to the MLP.
Assist the business set-up and reconciliation of the parallel Local GAAP ledger (L1) in Central Finance for Osprey legal entities, including supporting the development of reporting solutions to simplify and standardize complex tasks, and and partnering with PWC and our co-sourcing partners Deloitte.
Partner with local Finance teams to understand and learn from current processes and support them as interim and end state design solutions are implemented.
Support in preparing presentations, project plan updates etc. and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Help support the team in the timely execution of project plans.
Provide timely and insightful updates on project progress, including potential issues and risk areas.
Support A2R project activities, as required.
Support wider team members on ad-hoc tasks, as required.
how to succeed
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s level degree is required.
Qualified accountant (part-qualified accountants considered as well).
Experience and Skills
Required:
3 to 5 years finance, accounting or business experience
Proficient English
Knowledge of general finance, tax and accounting processes
An understanding of GAAP differences and adjustments between US GAAP and Local GAAP
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations
Preferred:
Exposure to statutory reporting and accounting in a previous or current role
Strong understanding of standard methodologies in Accounting and Financial Systems, including SAP
Experience of working in a complex, multi-ERP / system environment
