roles and responsibilities
As the Global Category Manager, Sustainability, you will develop and drive the sustainability agenda for the Packaging & Drug Delivery Systems Category. This will involve:
Develop and drive the Sustainability agenda for Packaging & Drug Delivery Systems Category for the horizon of 2026-2030
Develop the vision, strategy and implementation pathways for several key sustainability initiatives including but not limited to wide adoption of certified boards, PFAS-related initiatives, PPWR-related initiatives, EU Deforestation Regulation-related initiatives, etc.
Serve as a key stakeholder and influencer in shaping the future supplier landscape, taking into consideration our goals and objectives pertaining to Sustainability
Prepare and execute RFIs, RFQs and strategic supplier engagements to drive relevant sourcing decisions to take forward our goals and objectives
Build meaningful business cases and drive the project management of relevant key projects pertaining to the key initiatives identified
Build and maintain relationships throughout J&J that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of efficient approaches and solutions.
Sustainability Agenda Development: Develops comprehensive, meaningful sustainability agenda for the Category, taking into consideration latest developments in the industry and the maturity of relationships with our key supplier partners
Business Cases Development: Develops end-to-end business cases to take forward meaningful projects that will further the goals & objectives defined via the Sustainability Agenda
Project Management of Key Projects: Actively manage and drive key projects that are approved by Management
Subject Matter Expert Service: Serve as the subject matter expert in Sustainability as it relates to the Category
how to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives. You will also bring:
At least 5 years of experience in global procurement category management
Knowledge of packaging or drug delivery systems procurement in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desired
Excellent knowledge of the landscape of sustainability within the Packaging and/or Drug delivery systems industries
Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
Ability to understand and influence individuals
Ability to build compelling, meaningful end-to-end business cases
Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver
Ability to influence and understand differing needs of partners
