The Project/Role:

This role is within the UK/IRE marketing team for JJV, a small but energetic and driven team. You will be one of a number of marketers working on the ACUVUE® master brand. You’ll be responsible for the Core Portfolio within the ACUVUE master brand – specifically our sphere contact lenses (for short and long sightedness), accounting for around 60% of net trade sales. 

Our core portfolio is a top priority for 2021 and beyond so this is a high profile and fast paced role. You will report into the Head of Marketing with direct line responsibility for a Brand Manager and an Intern. All JJV UK/IRE marketers work across both professional and consumer marketing, to both drive eye care professional advocacy, and consumer demand, for the brand.


 

Who you will work with:

The marketing team work closely with Professional Affairs, Key Accounts, the Sales team (Acuvue Account Managers), and the Management Team. A strong customer (retailer) focus is a crucial part of how we do business and you’ll also be a key player in a multi functional team specific to a leading UK customer in order to drive excellence in customer activation.

The role also involves working closely with the EMA marketing team on a UK lead market basis.


 

Purpose of the role:

  • Group Brand Manager for ACUVUE®, with full accountability for the core products in the portfolio including both strategic and executional aspects:
  • Full accountability to deliver in year NTS/ share targets 
  • Ownership of the creation, shaping and execution the strategic business plans (both in year and longer term)
  • Driving the growth of the ACUVUE® portfolio across the UK and Ireland
  • Portfolio of brands in different product lifecycle stages—some with significant commercial focus, opportunities to turnaround/reshape a brand
  • Opportunity to serve as one of the global lead markets in the development of new and ongoing initiatives 
  • You will have experience developing and activating content & communication plans and a deep understanding of customer and retailer requirements for both consumers and professionals
  • Experience of developing a team coupled with strong analytical and influencing skills, and known to work as self-directed decision-maker 
  • Line Management responsibility for two direct reports (Assistant Brand Manager level or above). Coach and support team in the proficiencies outlined for their job level.


 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive performance by owning and delivering the strategic plan (annual business plan):

  • Health of business - monitoring of (sales, share, wearers. Analysis, insights and implications)
  • Source of growth/volume - identifying/defining
  • Competitor focus - monitor activity & derive insight
  • Sales force execution strategy working closely with sales team lead

 

Excellence in execution and delivery of compelling Acuvue experience:

  • Consumer outreach campaigns – media, PR, influencers
  • Sales force execution - selling decks, printed and other assets, national sales meeting training/briefing sessions
  • Professional plan including print & digital media and conferences and events
  • Creative/content – use global with locally-led work where needed
  • Product lifecycle management (discontinuations, migration, NPD planning)
  • Forecasting of supply
  • Pricing

 

Unlock category growth by winning with our key account customers by:

  • Leading marketing aspects of specific projects/initiatives
  • Building successful relationships with the relevant KA contacts (head office and store level)
  • Consumer outreach specific to key account

 

 

Experience Required:

  • A consumer &/or professional marketing background (preferably both, but for this role there is more emphasis on consumer), with experience in brand management, strategy development and deployment, and strong background of meeting results.
  • The ability to form relationships and influence partners, handle complexity and perform effectively in a matrix based organization. 
  • Strong influencing skills - communicate clearly with strong impact and excel in leading teams. 
  • Commercial understanding of P&L and financials
  • Can do positive approach, a collaborative style and skills in identifying creative solutions to challenges
  • Able to analyze data quickly and infer insights to act and move forward. Manage complexity.
  • Is proactive and results focused. Enjoys bringing new insights and solutions to the table & holds others accountable
  • Builds a sense of urgency around the priorities within the team 
  • Strong social skills and collaborative style, able to work with multiple partners simultaneously and influence them 
  • A strategic thinker unfazed by occasional ambiguity and good at adapting to change
