Imagine your next role as a Lead Technician who will lead the sample management team and ensure the day-to-day operations of the teams.
About the department
As a part of QC Laboratories situated at the Janssen Biologics Manufacturing site in Leiden, the QC Sample Management Team is responsible for sample reception, distribution, logging process, placing on stability and the gatekeeper of the inventory, and other tasks.
Main Responsibilities
Collaborating and actively contributing in a team environment, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Representing the lab in cross-departmental teams as needed, ensuring effective communication and alignment of objectives.
Gaining experience and knowledge in team performance, scheduling, and metric management, striving for continuous improvement.
Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading troubleshooting and result investigations.
Proactively serving as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) during audits and inspections, ensuring compliance and readiness.
Supporting colleagues in the development of their talents, fostering a culture of learning and development.
Mentoring team members to support their professional growth and development.
Having an overview of the team’s training status and assigning training to team members as needed.
Acting as the lead on general housekeeping in the lab and stability chambers, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Ensuring Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboard accuracy and timely reporting.
Owning the sample management team TCUs
The ideal candidate for this position should have:
A relevant HBO diploma in a related field.
Proven work experience in a relevant environment, with a strong understanding of the laboratory.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrating a willingness to support the team.
Proven leadership potential, with the ability to motivate and guide team members towards shared goals.
Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
A quality, compliance, and business-minded attitude, with a strong focus on ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.
Flexibility and agility, capable of handling multiple requests and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, efficiency under pressure.
