J&J Innovative Medicine Supply Chain Geel serves as Centre of Excellence for the development and manufacturing of Synthetic APIs used in treatments that improve the health and lifestyle of people worldwide. The Supply Chain Quality (SCQ) team supports the Geel site in its mission as Launch & Grow site and is responsible for the quality oversight and final release of APIs guaranteeing reliable supplies in compliance with applicable regulations.

As a MES Quality Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include the review and approval of Master Batch Records and Recipes to ensure timely production of our product portfolio of commercial APIs, while guaranteeing compliance with applicable regulations.

roles and responsibilities 

As a MES Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the quality oversight and final release of APIs.

This will involve:

  • Review and approve Master Batch records for commercial API’s

  • Review and approve Recipes, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Write and/or review and approve relevant QA procedures

  • Provide support for smaller optimization projects and tasks within the QA Commercial Operations team

  • Foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Business and Quality partners.


how to succeed 

You are a quality-focused professional with a strong analytical mindset and experience in digital manufacturing systems.

You will also bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, pharmacy, information technology, engineering, etc.)

  • Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and/or Quality Assurance

  • A strong understanding of production systems and their operation

  • Proficiency with the PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is required

  • Familiarity with the Delta-V system is a plus

  • Knowledge of API manufacturing and/or cleaning validation is a plus

  • Proven track record of working independently while maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a solutions-oriented mindset

  • A quality-focused mindset with attention to detail

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

  • Proficiency in the Dutch language is a huge plus
