Principal QA Engineer Leads high-impact projects with full technical ownership, driving innovation and solving complex challenges. Recognized for contributing significant designs and techniques that advance company objectives. Serves as a trusted advisor to quality senior leadership and a mentor to junior engineers, shaping technical direction and talent development.
roles and responsibilities.
Aligns site and project leaders on planning and resource allocation.
Champions robust quality strategies for validation of tests, processes and designs
Leads high-impact initiatives for product and process optimization
Drives cost efficiency through targeted quality improvements
Elevates standards through internal and external benchmarking
Defines and monitors critical quality metrics and cost structures
Ensures full compliance with global regulatory standards (QSRs, ISO 13485, MDD)
(co) Hosts internal and external audit activities with broad audit expertise
Partners with R&D to enforce design controls and mitigate design risks
Oversees transfer activities for products, materials, components, and designs
Owns and executes risk management processes including FMEAs and hazard analyses
Assesses process changes for regulatory and risk implications
Incorporates customer insights into continuous improvement and corrective actions
Coordinates rapid response to field issues with commercial teams
Designs and interprets sampling plans based on risk and defect profiles
Influences product design and validation strategies using market intelligence
Guides and develops quality talent across engineering and technical teams

how to succeed.
You will have 8–10 years of relevant experience with a background in manufacturing/operations.
Experience in FDA and European regulatory environments
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)
Advanced technical training in: Statistics, Lean & Six Sigma, Measurement System Analysis, SPC, DOEs, Reliability
Deep expertise in manufacturing equipment and production processes
Comprehensive knowledge of product and process risk management, aligned with FDA and ISO standards
Proven track record in developing and executing effective risk mitigation strategies
Strong understanding of GMP, ISO compliance, and validation requirements
Solid experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and process validation methodologies
Demonstrated project management and leadership abilities
Strong mentoring and coaching skills
Ability to manage remote teams
Proven leadership in areas aligned with job responsibilities
Ability to build partnerships both internally and externally

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for 12 months
