Summary of the role
The role involves spearheading the development and execution of the Global Procurement Vision, focusing on partnering with suppliers to innovate healthcare solutions. Responsibilities include crafting the vision, strategy, and implementation plan for sourcing specific sub-categories of Packaging, aligned with long-term business needs. As a key influencer, the role shapes technology choices and supplier landscapes for these sub-categories. Market insights are leveraged to drive tactical optimization and innovation. Initiatives include leading supplier selection, executing RFQs, and negotiating contracts. Deep supplier relationships are cultivated, emphasizing data analysis, performance management, and value enhancement. The role also entails fostering collaborative relationships across J&J to facilitate efficient solution development.
Key responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive, medium-complexity category strategies
Conduct complex analysis and proactively offer insights based on analysis
Support execution of strategy
Responsible for medium complexity category execution
Manage supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and monitor supplier performance
Monitor and report risks in supplier relationships and utilize key insights in the development of the long-term procurement vision and strategy
Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and Business Operating Principles
how to succeed:
A Bachelor’s Degree and/or University degree required; advanced MBA degree preferred.
A proven relevant professional work experience
Broad-based understanding of business operations and procurement practices (Spend Management, Category Management & Sourcing and Supplier Management)
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently present complex information
Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver
Demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives
Able to prioritize requests and propose effective alternatives when necessary.
Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
Ability to influence and understand differing needs of partners (e.g., Business, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain)
Knowledge of Aluminum films used both for sterile and non-sterile barriers is highly regarded
Working knowledge and experience in Sourcing Processes, Contracting, Negotiations
English fluency required
