Imagine your next project, working as a Design Project Engineer for DePuy Synthes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving team on our site in Leeds.
We are in search of a Design Project Engineer with a keen understanding of design principles to coordinate the case management of custom implant and instrument projects. The primary focus of this role will be on project management, but a deep appreciation and understanding of design and engineering is crucial.
roles and responsibilities
You will be looking after project coordination working with the design and manufacturing team. This will involve:
Lead the case management and production planning coordination of customised, patient-specific implant and instrument projects.
Complete technical tasks related to the design of these devices, including creating CAD assemblies, manufacturing process drawings, and generating manufacturing Routes and Bills of Materials.
Collaborate with workshop personnel to ensure designs are manufacturable, appropriately packaged, and dispatched as per specifications within the set timeframe.
Liaise with planning, purchasing, and commercial teams to resolve any challenges concerning material delivery and work-in-progress (WIP) from subcontracting vendors.
Strengthen relationships with DePuy Synthes Sales Account Managers for efficient case management.
Create and lead all aspects of documentation for Technical Files in line with device regulations.
Maintain the highest standards of the quality system concerning the production and provision of patient-specific medical device products.
Assist in overall project management duties, ensuring timely updates to documents and product codes.
Handle and input ERP data for custom devices.
how to succeed
You will need to come good design experience for this role. You will also bring:
Candidates should possess a degree in areas such as Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or Product Design, with a proven understanding of both design principles and project management.
Solid background in project management, preferably with proficiency in methodologies such as Prince2.
Exemplary organizational and task prioritization capabilities.
Team-oriented mentality, paired with a proactive and hardworking demeanor.
Competence in independently running tasks and embracing a creative approach.
Ability to balance multiple projects/tasks efficiently.
Emphasis on quality and regulatory compliance.
Strong decision-making skills.
Practical problem-solving approach.
Open to change and encouraging of innovative ideas.
Clear and detailed communication capabilities.
Knowledge in CAD, especially Siemens NX, would be a plus.
