Duration: 12 months (opportunity for a contract extension)

Hours: 39 hours per week (overtime may be required)

Pay rate range: Competitive hourly rate (PAYE, Umbrella and Ltd options available)

Imagine your next project as Project Engineer. The Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine site in Ringaskiddy, Cork is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. There are multiple projects happening on-site, but this contract role in particular focuses on the waste water management. The ideal candidate would have experience of environmental/waster water management projects and it would be an advantage if the candidate had previously worked within the pharmaceutical industry.

roles and responsibilities

  • Advises top leadership of ongoing Project Engineering Supply Chain plans, key milestones, and objectives, to ensure deliverables are aligned with customer’s operational needs and requirements.

  • Identifies any Project Engineering non-conformance and subsequent corrective and preventive actions, by documenting, investigating, and conducting root cause analysis, and successfully implementing corrective actions.

  • Completes capital and expense forecasts for assigned engineering projects, to ensure outputs adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Analyses process validations on Project Engineering processes for subsequent operational integration and supply chain implementation.

  • Examines outputs of Project Engineering Technicians by supporting and enforcing site-specific safety and industrial hygiene requirements.

  • Identifies and communicates, in a timely manner, any Project Engineering issues or concerns to the next management level.

  • Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

  • Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day to-day interactions with team.

  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software.

  • The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.

  • Excellent project management and supervision skills.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.

  • Someone with an environmental and mechanical background desirable.

  • Project Planning: Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

  • Coordination: Acting as the bridge between the project manager and the technical aspects of the project, coordinating the efforts of different teams, such as engineering, procurement, and construction.

  • Technical Oversight: Ensuring the engineering designs and technical specifications meet the required standards and are implemented correctly.

  • Risk Management: Identifying project risks related to technical executions and proposing mitigation strategies.

  • Quality Control: Ensuring the project delivers to the agreed standards and specifications, often through testing and quality assurance practices.

  • Documentation: Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining project technical documentation and reports
