Location: Leiden
Working mode: Hybrid, 3 days per week on-site and 2 WFH
Duration: 12 months
Hours: Full-time, 32-40 hours per week
As Project manager, you play a crucial role in the success of the EVM Portfolio by supporting the rollout and execution of EVM projects. Furthermore, you will shape the future of the project management process.
Accountable for the deliveries of your assigned projects (e.g.: End Of Life projects of technical systems (HVAC, production/lab equipment, water/gas systems, etc.), lab/clean room refurbishments, technical feasibility studies) in such a way that projects are completed on-time, within budget and in accordance with the required quality.
Review and approve project management and technical documentation (Project letter, Project plan, URS, planning, Risk assessments, cost calculations, resource planning, etc.)
Support project lead when needed.
Manage and update portfolio tools.
Act as project manager in accordance with RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) process.
Be the point of contact for internal stakeholders/ sponsors of your projects.
Takes care of the onboarding of the external contractor project leads for the assigned projects.
Continuous improvement for project management system.
Providing timely project budget, resource and timeline data to the project portfolio manager.
Support setting up the annual Capex budget and controlling it throughout the year
Setting priorities of Capex projects and aligning them with the departments involved, constantly assessing, and improving the efficiency of the processes within the engineering team, so that the technical assets and the resources are optimally utilized.
Provides project management training to EVM team & project contractors (incl. onboarding project contractors)
PMS Training and guidance to internal customers.
how to succeed
Experience: Proven, extensive experience as a Project Manager/Programme Manager, demonstrating the ability to successfully lead a portfolio of multiple, simultaneous engineering projects.
Background: A strong Engineering background is mandatory (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering) due to the highly technical nature of the projects.
Industry: Recent professional experience within a highly regulated environment is essential. Direct experience in the Pharmaceutical (Pharma) or Biotech industry, adhering to GMP/GDP guidelines, is strongly preferred.
Project Focus: Demonstrated capability to manage complex CAPEX projects involving technical asset replacement and infrastructure upgrades.
Location: Ability to be on-site in Leiden for 3 days per week, with an expectation of full-time on-site presence during the initial onboarding period.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of being the effective point of contact for internal sponsors and successfully managing external contractor teams.
