As the Project Manager in the Manufacturing Innovation department, you will take on a pivotal role within a dynamic global team dedicated to pioneering advanced technologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with key departments, including Engineering, Quality, Operations, HSE, Facilities, and Design, to orchestrate the development of a seamless end-to-end process.

In this position, you will lead a diverse, cross-functional team of technical engineers, leveraging your extensive experience in project management to ensure the creation of a highly successful process that exceeds customer expectations. You will oversee the research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, establishing a robust framework that supports our innovative initiatives.

This role is not only challenging but also immensely rewarding, as your communication and project management skills will be vital to your success. You will report directly to the Senior Principal Engineer based in Cork and collaborate closely with both local and global project teams. Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will be required to:

  • Develop and execute detailed project plans in a manner that inspires team members 

  • Develop deep insights into the needs of our operating companies, patients, customers, markets and communities. To cultivate external relationships and forge internal collaboration across all levels of the enterprise.

  • Drive innovation by anticipating and shaping industry and market changes to advance health care globally. 

  • Deliver results by inspiring and mobilizing people and teams. To empower people to act with speed, agility, and accountability 

  • Lead Engineering activities while ensuring an integrated product and process development cycle. 

  • Lead a cross functional team put in place an end to end advanced technology process

  • Bringing associated Technologies to production readiness

  • Lead technology selection and process design for product manufacture.

  • Manage Partner Development, technology Readiness Assessments, PFMEA/risk assessment studies and process development/validation activities.

  • Deliver stable, lean manufacturing solutions.

  • Budget control


How to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline with 6 years’ experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a medical device or equivalent regulated environment 

  • Certified Project Management qualifications (IPMA/FPX).

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects

  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills

  • Self-motivated, with focus on Quality, Delivery and Cost.

  • Excellent Planning & Organisational Skills

  • Proven Root Cause analysis and problem solving techniques (A3, 8D, TRIZ or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes

  • Previous experience in Advanced Manufacturing technology realisation

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant technical area

  • Chartered Engineer

  • Value Engineering practitioner

  • Proficiency of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M 1994 standards

  • Certified Six Sigma qualifications.
