Roles and Responsibilities
As a Research and Development Engineer, you will be a vital contributor to our R&D capabilities, executing and reporting on projects aimed at developing and improving products and processes, while ensuring compliance and quality across all laboratory operations. You will support projects from conception through to validation, leveraging your expertise in analytical techniques and a proactive, hands-on approach. You will join the Research and Development team and your primary responsibilities will include:
Coordinate and execute analytical work: Plan and perform experimental work, process and analyze data, and report on R&D projects.
Innovate and develop:
Innovate, develop potential new products and production processes.
Improve existing products and production processes.
Develop and validate analytical methods for testing existing and potential new products.
Provide Quality and Compliance Support: Offer R&D support for Non-Conformances, Corrective and Preventive Actions, deviations, and audit-related activities.
Support Laboratory Operations:
Support installation, qualification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Contribute to essential operational tasks (stock management, purchase orders, incoming inspections).
Maintain organization within the R&D laboratories and warehouse.
Ensure Compliance and Safety: Dedication to upholding laboratory and manufacturing safety standards.
How to Succeed
You will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience and Skills:
A minimum of 3 years (B.Sc.) or 2 years (M.Sc.) experience in a highly regulated industry is required, with Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
Hands-on experience with various analytical techniques such as NMR, SEC, KF, and FTIR.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational and time-management skills: Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously while remaining adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive and Independent: A proactive, hands-on approach coupled with the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
Commitment to Quality: High attention to detail and a dedication to quality and compliance.
Preferred Expertise:
Experience in polymer chemistry (synthesis, purification, and characterization).
Experience in analytical method development and validation.
Experience in process development and validation.
Being able to perform multistep organic synthesis.
Knowledge of ISO 13485.
Benefits
This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for 12 months.
