Hours: Mon - Thurs 8am - 4.30pm, Fri - 8am - 1pm

roles and responsibilities
To perform a wide variety of testing and complex investigational work using well developed technical skills and a rigorous scientific approach. Responsibilities will be focused on material science and technology, experience in bone cement characterization and handling properties and knowledge of mixing systems are desirable. More duties include:
To contribute to cross functional projects encompassing product design changes, compliance and vigilance investigations, stability studies or other relevant subjects
To perform a variety of laboratory testing including analytical, formulation, and mechanical-based methodologies
To generate high quality written work including maintaining an up to date lab book, writing protocols and reports, and managing raw data
Create project plans for assigned technical work programs and proactively to communicate these milestones
Ensuring equipment maintenance, calibration, validation, HS&E and general housekeeping are maintained at all times.
To develop a basic understanding of orthopaedic surgery/surgical techniques relating to the company’s products and marketing materials.
how to succeed
You will have good communication skills, knowledge of orthopaedics, the ability to be innovative and project management skills. You will also bring:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, e.g., Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry.
Candidate should have 1-2 years of relevant medical device R&D experience
Essential to have knowledge of bone cement characterization and handling properties
Essential to demonstrate technical skills acquired in a relevant scientific role
Working knowledge of Design Controls procedures
Experience using Microsoft Office tools
Desirable to have knowledge of bone cement mixing systems
Desirable to have knowledge of the medical device or closely related healthcare industry
Desirable to have knowledge of the Medical Device Regulations
Desirable to have experience working in a production/manufacturing environment

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run until 31/12/23 and has a chance of extension. This is a hybrid role but will involve some studies that will require more time on-site.
