Hours: 40 hours, onsite - 12 months contract role
Essential: Responsible for the execution of lab-based experiments to support the validation of targets and preclinical drug discovery projects - include designing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing in vivo and in vitro experimental work.
The Role:
The scientist is part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in exploratory immuno-oncology, playing a key role in the evaluation and understanding of new drug concepts in vivo. The experienced scientist is responsible for the execution of lab-based experiments to support the validation of targets and preclinical drug discovery projects. In detail, responsibilities include designing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing in vivo and in vitro experimental work.
This position requires hands-on expertise in mouse handling, immunological techniques including ELISA/ MSD/Luminex and experience with sterile cell culture and manipulation. Furthermore, the scientist is responsible for the independent execution of experiments, analysis of results and graphical data representation.
Key Responsibilities:
Experienced with hands-on animal handling in oncology-relevant rodent models such as subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor implantation techniques and dosing, proper handling of therapeutics, tumor measurement, health monitoring, and data collection and analysis.
Experience in cell culture work
Experience in the isolation and analysis of cells/tissue/blood/plasma/serum using flow cytometry or immunoassays (ELISA/MSD/Luminex) is a plus.
Efficient managing and planning of multiple experiments
Performs data analysis and interpretation
Collaborating with scientists in multiple disciplines
Excellent compliance level with Electronic Lab Notebook reporting (ELN) and Environmental Health and Safety regulations (EHS)
Fluent in written and spoken English
Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Studylog, FACS analysis software, statistical and graphical analysis software
This position may require occasional weekend, evening, and holiday dosing/animal monitoring.

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities
65% Experimental lab work includes but is not limited to in vivo rodent handling, dosing, tumor implantation, tumor volume measurement, collection and analysis of cells/tissue/blood/plasma/serum/supernatant using flow cytometry, ELISA/MSD/Luminex
10% Analysis of data and graphical representation, literature searches to confirm data
15% Drafting protocol - Signals reporting
5% Maintenance of cell cultures
5% Meetings with the extended team, colleagues, supervisor, …
Other Duties
Smaller day-to-day tasks or infrequent tasks: lab cleaning, supply inventory keeping, following appropriate trainings, unpacking orders and shipments,
Required Education:
Master degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biology or Genetic Engineering or other or equivalent through relevant experience in a laboratory environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experienced in vivo rodent handling, dosing, tumor implantation, tumor volume measurement, sample collection and analysis of cells/tissue/blood/plasma/serum/supernatant using flow cytometry, ELISA/MSD/Luminex, Immunohistochemistry. Cell line culture techniques required. Graphpad skills for statistical analysis and graphical representation.
Excellent organizational skills, experimental documentation, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, highly matrixed, interactive environment is essential.
Strong communication and reporting skills (good knowledge of English is required)
Basic MS Office programs (powerpoint, word, excel, ….)
Preferred Qualifications
