Senior Logistics Process Engineer

Location: Sassenheim

Working mode: On-site

Duration: 12 months initially (opportunity for a contract extension)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Start: ASAP, 5th January 2026 ideally

We are looking for a Senior Logistics Process Engineer for our Sassenheim manufacturing plant overall material and product logistics processes, to acts as a seasoned and productive individual contributor who owns, introduces, maintains, and improves inbound, material logistics (staging, kitting and internal transport) and product distribution, while managing supportive processes and ensuring continuous improvement. Partners with senior management, global teams and operations to make vital decisions on process engineering and methods, ensuring the development of robust processes and boosting operational efficiencies in line with production objectives. The Senior Logistics Process Engineer is also able to lead the local logistics operations team with process implementation, documentation and training, while leads projects for ensuring quality and compliance. 

Contributes to the organization’s Operations strategy by guiding team members and facilitating the establishment and implementation of new processes, applying deep knowledge to achieve best-in-class improvements. Demonstrates effective communication skills with both internal and external customers. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment.

roles and responsibilities

  • Support Operations: Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor, providing feedback on team activities and priorities.

  • Manage Material Flow: Serve as the operational lead for the introduction of processes and/or systems related to the inbound flow of material, staging, kitting, and distribution.

  • Adhere to Standards: Apply advanced knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) to ensure all activities adhere to internal and external regulations.

  • Maintain Process Continuity: Ensure the smooth operation of existing processes, promptly addressing any issues that arise to maintain product quality, sustain productivity, and minimize downtime.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Proactively evaluate and improve processes to optimize performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency to meet overall production goals.

    • Implement Lean tools for continuous process improvement.

    • Oversee all aspects of equipment, process, and quality within the defined scope, from inception to completion.

  • Monitor and Assess Performance: Oversee and perform monitoring and continuously assess the process to ensure it operates within acceptable limits and industry standards, achieving expected output/yield.

  • Lead Improvement Initiatives: Lead cross-functional teams to develop strategies and implement improvements that minimize downtime and losses.

  • Manage Risk and Escalation: Help conduct formal escalation processes to ensure visibility of risks associated with safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Translate Requirements: Convert technical transfer requirements into functional and operational process activities.

  • Ensure Documentation: Ensure adequate documentation for the production process, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Master Batch Records, where applicable.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME): Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, responsible for performing product impact assessments and owning Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).

  • Support Quality Systems: Contribute to change control implementation and non-conformance investigations.

  • Oversee Implementation: Oversee the acceptance testing and implementation of new processes and equipment.

  • Coach and Guide: Apply expertise, lead, and coach the team through escalations that cannot be resolved by first-line support.

  • Conduct Process Audits: Conduct Gemba walks to observe processes performed by warehouse operators, and lead sustainable improvements to enhance safety, quality, reliability, cost, and scheduling.

  • Develop Professionally: Take ownership of personal training and ensure all required training is understood and completed on time.

  • Foster Inclusive Culture: Enhance a culture of belonging through trusting, diverse, and inclusive relationships.

  • Mentor Team Members: Coach and mentor employees.



Additional tasks and job duties of the position that are not required daily: 

  • Design and improve tools to facilitate process monitoring and detailed trend analysis. 

  • Develop a comprehensive (long-term) strategy for operations, create a detailed action plan, and deliver results. 

  • Support developing training programs specific to the process. 

  • Subject Matter Expect on process related topics during inspection and audits. 

  • Representative of the Operations unit, following FPX methodology as project lead or core team member. 

  • Works with the Asset Team to align equipment related changes with the established process. 

  • Represent the Operations unit in creating and updating service level agreements (SLA’s) and contracts with business partners.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (HBO/University of Applied Sciences level) in a relevant field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Language: C2 proficiency level in English is required.

  • MS Office: Intermediate proficiency.

  • Data Analysis: Specialist proficiency.

  • Business Applications: Analyst proficiency for relevant business applications.
