Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (J&JIMSC) is recruiting for a Sr. Project Manager, Late-Stage Value Chain Management (VCM), located in Ireland. The role can be based in J&J’s Cork sites, with hybrid/remote work within Ireland a possibility for the right candidate.

The Late-Stage (LS) Product Value Chain Management team oversees the strategy and lifecycle of 46 late-stage brands across multiple therapeutic areas. We lead end-to-end global, cross-functional teams, executing LS Brands initiatives in accordance with lifecycle strategy, ensuring continuity for key products and ensuring optimizations are achieved. We manage supply chain risks and implement Value Chain Risk Management (VCRM) recommendations. 

This position will report under the Value Chain Management organization within J&JIM Supply Chain, reporting to the Head of Late-Stage Products.

Role

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic leader to join our team as a Sr. Project Manager, Late-Stage Product VCM. The ideal candidate will excel in cross-functional collaboration, communication, and project delivery, with proven experience managing complex lifecycle projects such as product transfers, risk mitigation, supplier qualification, and portfolio optimization.

This role demands a high level of leadership, people management, and project management expertise, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within scope. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-driven, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the late-stage value chain leads in their sponsorship and leadership of product lifecycle management activities including:

    • Manufacturing/distribution technical transfers.

    • New API/material introductions.

    • End-to-end brand optimization – (SKU delisting and readiness for divestiture)

  • Serving as a subject matter expert for product related supply interruptions and escalations as directed by Value Chain Leaders and Value Chain management.

  • Develop business cases in coordination with Value Chain Leaders and implement product portfolio optimization.

  • Leverage project management skills and resources to achieve project goals while maintaining quality, scope, budget, and schedule. Lead cross-functional teams proactively in dynamic environments to identify, recommend, and execute optimal enterprise solutions.

  • Drive informed decisions and trade-offs for assigned projects, ensuring choices align with overall business impact, budget, resources, and implementation complexity.

  • Guide project teams in developing detailed project plans and risk registers, and oversee project activities to meet objectives, including securing approvals through governance processes.

  • Demonstrate team performance management; ask the right questions to understand business impact and risks.

  • Influence others beyond own scope and level; lead communications with all levels of stakeholders to enable informed decision making.

  • Make the complex simple when presenting opportunities and plans to the team and organization


How to Succeed

  • A minimum of 10 years related pharmaceutical experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Business, Science, Engineering, or a related disciple. 

  • Proven track record in project management/leadership is required.

  • Experience in New Product Introduction and/or Life Cycle Project Management.

  • An understanding of Synthetic and Biotherapeutic manufacturing & distribution processes.

  • Consistent record in leading multifunctional, virtual’ and global teams to success.

  • Demonstrated leadership & influencing skills across organizational levels. 

  • Experience leading a portfolio of projects with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, lead, and deliver results in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. 

  • Experience with industry standard PM tools and templates.

  • Masters qualified in a related discipline. 

  • Confirmed ability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation and partnering

  • Project management qualification: e.g. PMP, FPX.

  • Insight into End-to-End supply chain characteristics and understanding of financial processes such as case development, P&L calculation, and COGS.

  • Exposure to an international working environment is preferred.

  • An element of operations experience leading to a broader knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain design, implementation and troubleshooting would be beneficial.
