Services & Solutions Manager - Early Products 


Location: Field based - UK - predominantly London sites 

Duration: 12 months

The S&S Manager: Early Products (EP) is responsible for the following in assigned

brand/therapy areas which evolve subject to priority & commercial timeframes:

  • Mapping local patient pathways & design/implement referral strategy

  • Co-ordination of defined site readiness plans

  • Develop account management plans (Defined sites only @ provider level) to include:

    • Train & qualify hospital treatment centres to be able to treat patients with

      Janssen cell and gene therapies.

    • Operating as One Face to the site for set up and certification, and responsible

      for delivering best in class experience

    • Business-level partner to the site lead physician, hospital management and

      Quality team

  • Developing operational educational & solutions design plan for the centres as well as for UK customer facing teams in partnership with cross functional partners

  • In Early launch/scoping the role will feed into go to market models which includes working with UK, EMEA & global teams were required leading scoping and shaping for site readiness

  • Post launch– ongoing optimisation of the target sites service were relevant & preparation of handover to commercial teams were required

  • Working with partners to proactively identify compliant innovative opportunities to improve services & referrals 

  • Close collaboration with SAM/Marketing /MSL team


Roles and responsibilities


1. Develop the UK Site readiness and strategic plan as part of the end-to-end treatment experience (Defined sites/Brands/TA)

  • Establishes relationships with key stakeholders/ decision makers along the patient and product pathway for certification purposes only/launch readiness

  • Develop strategic key business questions identifying opportunities to shape & influence the UK go to market model and tactical site readiness plan, working in partnership with CVTL/SPM

  • Targeting and prioritisation of UK launch sites in partnership with CVT

  • Insights gathering to shape and develop UK Site Qualification/Certification and

  • Activation plans: developing treatment area playbook including training requirements for sites.

  • Identify innovative solutions to support the new service set up delivery / wrap around services working with other allocated S&SM to propose & build.

  • Partner with UK Opco, EMEA and Global teams were relevant to scope and define

  • internal business processes/ system requirements to support the go to market model.

  • Mapping local patient pathways & design/implement referral strategy.

  • Influence and shape the EMEA regional COE were relevant for each brand to ensure

  • the strategic and tactical plans will be fit for purpose for the UK and successfully

  • differentiate us vs competition.


2. Execution of site readiness plans, operating to enable best in class experience during site qualification/certification and activation 

  • Implementation of agreed training strategy that is tailored to the site 

  • Coordinates Janssen stakeholders around sites, including the UK, EMEA and Global Site readiness/Certification Team, the EMEA COE where relevant and the OpCo/cluster medical, quality, legal and supply chain teams 

  • Drives contracting process by working with legal professionals to ensure it is streamlined for hospital team 

  • Works with the Supply chain, quality, regulatory, legal, compliance and medical teams to establish site protocols and processes around appropriate defined brands 

  • Ensures implementation of defined treatment into relevant sub-national guidelines in partnership with SAM Team 

  • Orchestrates delivery of site certification training, coordinating appropriate Janssen stakeholders including supply chain and medical 

  • Oversees final site activation 


3. Proactively assist sites in ongoing optimization of processes and infrastructure through service and solutions, including:

  • Assists sites in throughput planning 

  • Supports sites in capacity expansion or new indications and workflow changes 

  • Oversees ongoing site audits and inspections 

  • Support centers to scale-up their relevant operations via deployment of spoke and hub models to maximize the access to patients 

  • Develop Peer-to-Peer and scientific operational educational plans to improve relevant patient management and sharing best practices across the network of allocated centers & the EMEA region (were appropriate) 


Key Compliance Requirements

  1. Ensure safety reporting requirements (timely AE/PQC reporting) as set out in company policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and appropriately managed when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors 

  2. Ensure HCC and legal requirements (Fair Market Value, Transfer of Value rules, Promotional Materials rules) are fully understood, appropriately managed and complied with when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors 

  3. Ensure inspection readiness with respect to personal training compliance, and availability of recent CV and individualized Job Description 

  4. If commissioning contractors or third-party organisations, put contracts in place and provide training so that these individuals also act in accordance with Johnson & Johnson HCC requirements when interacting with Healthcare Professionals and report adverse events and complaints (as above).

Essential Technical Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Site readiness experience

  • Value excellence competencies 

  • Strategic thinking, ability to implement business plans, strong communication and negotiation skills 

  • Ability to cultivate senior level relationships and create partnerships with stakeholders 

  • Understanding of dynamics in complex organizations and ability to influence people 

  • Strong TA, disease and product knowledge 

  • Prior project management experience

  • Deep understanding of hospital operations 

  • Strong project management skills 

  • English proficiency 


Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level

  • Higher level qualification desired (e.g. MBA, MSc, professional Marketing qualification (CIM)

  • Bio/pharma experience needed, haematology / oncology or cell therapy experience desired

  • ABPI

  • Experience in a CRO, as an MSL or in Supply Chain is appreciated

  • At least 5 years of prior experience in key account management in a healthcare environment

  • Project management and hospital experience
