To achieve our strategic goal of building a strong relationship with over one million consumer leads using all aspects of the digital technologies the Vision Care IT group is recruiting a Regional Technical Product Owner (herewith, TPO). 



roles and responsibilities

The role sits within the EMEA Digital squad at the EMEA regional level to enable business strategies & deliver results through the effective implementation of information technology. 

The TPO is recognised as the key IT contact in providing support in transforming business ideas and aspirations into workable and deliverable as well as scalable digital transformation plans using Lean and Agile methodologies. This role facilitates the relationship with all regional business leaders and their teams, creates and gains alignment on the technical delivery of business initiatives through closely working with EMEA Digital squad members including, but not limited to developers, QA engineers and other Scrum team members then ensures implementation and ongoing support within budget.



This includes:

Business Partnering

  • As a TPO, you will establish strong working relationships with B2B and B2C business stakeholders.

  • This role sits within the EMEA Digital Team, which is responsible for ~80 digital assets across EMEA, comprising websites and mobile apps.

  • You will be the go-to person for the EMEA Digital Squad team, that comprises ContentStack, Drupal, Salesforce.com, Salesforce Marketing Cloud developers as well as QA engineers, Lead Engineers, Technical Leads, Technical Product Manager, and Scrum Masters.

  • You will also be the primary point of contact for business stakeholders regarding all digital initiatives from B2B, B2C, Sales, Professional Affairs, Supply chain, Finance, and Marketing teams across the region.

  • You will take on primary accountability for capturing, documenting, and refining business requirements for a variety of digital initiatives and translating those requirements into workable and deliverable technical epics and user stories.

  • Your broader working relationships will encompass partnership with other digital teams in the region as well as globally. Examples of such teams include Data and Analytics, Commercial, Platform and Support teams.

  • You will have or will quickly develop a good understanding of the J&J Vision business model and local market dynamics.

  • You will actively participate in the business partner activities and meetings, facilitating workshops when needed, and run scrum ceremonies when called-upon to do so, although this isn’t expected to be a regular occurrence.

  • You will partner with and develop effective networks within J&J IT and external agencies/vendors to drive business goals and objectives.

  • You will leverage knowledge across IT teams and get alignment on various aspects of digital and business initiatives from all parties as relevant.

  • You will coordinate efforts across J&J IT to deliver results per business expectations.

  • You will facilitate and ensure thorough documentation across all requirements, and solution workflows as well as documentation pertaining to various systems as necessary and ensure that such documentation is supported with clear process flow maps and diagrams as appropriate to ensure clarity at all levels.

  • You will have or will quickly acquire a good understanding of APIs and integration points between applications, processes, vendors, and functional areas.

  • You will work with the Scrum Master in managing Jira backlogs and user stories to ensure alignment to priorities set by BPOs and Compliance Partners across all relevant workstreams.

  • You will identify, research, and validate innovative solutions, applying the concepts of appropriate methodologies.

  • You will pre-empt and resolve issues, barriers, roadblocks and any internal or external impediments that may impede progress and escalate appropriately.

  • You will ascertain adherence to Agile methodology and JJT SDLC framework, ensuring quality and consistency of team deliverables.

  • You will lead on and support definition of requirements and be the key liaison between agency partners, global services, MD&D, supply chain, and end-users as well as all other stakeholders.


Compliance

  • You will be well-versed in all policies and EU regulations related to Digital technologies and communication.

  • You will share accountability for ensuring that J&J policies, procedures and best practices are followed in development, deployment, integration, and support of all digital assets in EMEA.

  • You will ensure that J&J information assets are appropriately identified, valued, and protected by complying with and enforcing all local and global security policies.


People Management

  • You will step-in to lead the digital squad as and when called upon to do so by EMEA IT Lead and TPM.

  • You will play a key part in implementing organisational policies and procedures.

  • You will assist EMEA TPM and IT Lead in successfully and smoothly on-boarding and integrating new consultants into the team and ensure that key objectives are clear to them from day one.


Technology Management

  • You will demonstrate familiarity with coding standards, and will maintain superior technical expertise in the above areas and can visualise opportunities for J&J. 

  • You will have good knowledge of vendors and application strengths/weaknesses and will contribute to the decision-making processes led by EMEA TPM and IT Lead.

  • You will be skilled at anticipating and helping to avoid technical problems / bad designs whilst also quickly identifying root causes and implementing solution / workarounds.

  • You will quickly establish yourself as the go-to person within the EMEA Digital ecosystem and will actively seek to follow best industry standards.



how to succeed

  • Ideally possess a university degree in Computing, Computer Sciences, or Digital Media; alternatively, 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Hold a formal Product Management certification (e.g., CSPO) or have 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experienced in supporting web application development projects using Agile methodologies.

  • Knowledge of technologies related to Professional Education, Digital Marketing (B2B, B2C, B2B2C), Search Engine Optimization, social media, Customer Relationship Management (Oracle CRM on-Demand & Salesforce.com), Mobile Processes, Traditional Web sites (ContentStack, Headless CMS, Drupal CMS, PHP, Java/HTML, Flash, ReactJS), Email Marketing, integration / web services and e-commerce.

  • Good understanding of common project management methodologies, especially Agile and Kanban.

  • Advanced user of Confluence, Jira, MS SharePoint, Visio, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools and technologies for communication and managing requirements and connecting the dots in communication between the business stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Strong communicator with exceptional written and verbal English skills, adept at navigating challenging situations.

  • Experience in the Life Science industry is beneficial but not mandatory.

  • Comfortable collaborating with diverse individuals from various backgrounds, ensuring clear communication, especially with non-native English speakers and non-technical professionals.

  • Enthusiastic with robust relationship management skills and a focus on objectives.




Benefits

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract is scheduled to last till the 31st December 2024 with a potential review for an extension.
