Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) Emerging Technology plays a key role in driving technology innovation for the J&J Innovative Medicine Supply Chain. Emerging Technology is responsible for the definition of new opportunities, technology scouting, lab-scale proof-of-principle studies, and demonstrating proof-of-concept at large scale.
The team develops and delivers projects that are primarily related to two key MSAT strategic pillars: Process Intensification and Integrated Quality & Real-Time Release. Our team reimagines the way we run and control our manufacturing processes! Thereby, driving key advancements in yield, reliability, and efficiency end-to-end.
To accelerate the delivery of proof-of-principle & proof-of-concept packages for technologies on our IQ RTR roadmap, we are looking for a contractor based in Schaffhausen.
roles and responsibilities
Your key responsibility is to deliver an overall PoP and PoC package for IQ RTR technologies in close collaboration with our lab-based Scientists. Through partnering with key functions across the supply chain, like Quality, Operations, R&D, and Digital, you play a key role in demonstrating GMP readiness at the end of the PoC stage.
This will involve:
URS creation and alignment with stakeholders
Coordination of vendor assessments and supplier agreements
Digital intake and coordination of system/software/equipment integration assessments
Business case development, in close alignment with Strategy & Deployment
Project Leadership PoC studies, including project portfolio and funding activities.
Facilitation and execution of technology risk assessments
Preparation of and starting GMP integration.
Knowledge management & creation of documentation standards
Other tasks:
Support other activities in the team and work area according to appropriate procedures, values, and standards on an ad-hoc basis as the need arises.

Qualifications
Education:
B.S., M.S. or PhD in either Science or Engineering
Experience and Skills:
Required:
5+ years of (industrial) work experience with MSc OR 3+ years with advanced degree MBA/Ph.D. or equivalent.
Past proven field experience in one of the following areas: biopharmaceutical (GMP) manufacturing technology (Drug Substance or Drug Product), Process Analytical Technology, Analytical Development, Process Engineering and/or system integration & automation
Preferred:
Hands-on experience with Process Analytical Technology
Hands-on experience with defining and assessing a digital architecture for system integration.
The ability to develop and/or assess Business Cases, and develop action plans related to Processes Improvements, Costs and/or Quality improvements.
Prior exposure to Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance cGMP and EH&S
Project management qualification and experience
Operational Excellence experience in Lean, Process Excellence, and/or Design Excellence
Experience with equipment qualification for a GMP regulated environment.
