roles and responsibilities

The contractor is based in AD Leiden and will contribute to excipient method development and co-validations to support the protein portfolio.

  • Act as commercial SME for the size exclusion HPLC, ion exchange and hydrophobic interaction chromatography methods. 

  • Act as owner of multiple HPLC instruments and support troubleshooting activities. 

  • Design and execution of experiments. 

  • Analyse data and write/review reports. 

  • Lead and participate in development of method validation strategy. 

  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams with representatives from analytical, manufacturing, quality and other functions. 

  • Lead and participate in scientific investigations and trouble-shoot method issues that arise during development, technology transfer, or routine use of the method. 

  • Contribute to regulatory filings and health authority interactions. 

  • Coordinate laboratory training initiatives. 

  • Successful candidate will be working in a team environment as well as contributing individually to meet project and department objectives and timelines.


how to succeed

You will have strong communication skills, the ability to work on your own initiative and support the team. You will also be able to manage a flexible schedule.  You will also bring:


  • ~ 3+ years of hands-on work in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting.

  • Strong practical experience with Liquid Chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), including routine use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with Method Validation strategies and execution

  • Solid working knowledge of GMP/cGMP regulations and documentation standards.

  • Education: Bachelor, Masters or above in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. 

This contract will run for a 12 month period.

This is a hybrid role (3 days on-site), it may require some flexibility on site days at times during busy periods, audits etc.
