Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for an Associate Scientist Data Systems in the QC group of Analytical Development Advanced Therapeutics, located in Leiden, The Netherlands.
The department:
The Lab Systems Operations team from the Analytical Development group is responsible for the data systems, analytical instruments and equipment used in the AD Labs for generating, capturing and reporting data.
roles and responsibilities
We are searching for a Data Systems Scientist to strengthen the Data Systems part of our Lab Systems Operations group. The Associate Scientist’s activities would have 2 central assignments:
Drive new eLN implementation (Benchling) for Analytical Development department (NL & US)
Drive implementation of digital validation/equipment qualification system (Kneat) for team in Leiden, NL
Create master data for Analytical Development department (teams in NL and US), i.e. analytical assay templates
Write supporting procedures to ensure proper system use
Train and support users
Act as single point of contact for the eLN (Benchling)
Assess gaps between current process and process required to run Kneat
Adjust current procedures and process to accommodate the use of Kneat
Connect with J&J system owner and support the implementation (perform testing, gather input from the local team, write local documentation)
Train and support users
Act as single point of contact for our digital validation system (Kneat)
how to succeed
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific field. You will also bring:
Bachelor’s degree (or gained experience) in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, or related subject area)
Strong affinity with working in a GMP setting, with digital systems, experience with quality and laboratory systems such as LIMS & SAP
Analytical, detail oriented and diligent, with a dedication to maintaining high-quality standards
Can work alone in a structured and efficient way but is also a team player
Good communication skills, able to connect to different stakeholders
Highly proficient in spoken and written English. Dutch is considered a plus.
Laboratory work experience is a strong advantage

This is a hybrid position (3 days on-site, 2 days at home). This contract will run for a 12 month period.
