The role:



We are seeking a passionate Development Engineer to lead a prototype equipment implementation within the Large Molecule Drug Product Process Development team.  

The candidate will work independently and in conjunction with development. manufacturing and quality teams to support the design and development of an innovative equipment for drug substance handling Drug product compounding, potentially also a robotic system.  This role is key to advancing aseptic manufacturing technologies and automation within our organization and will have the opportunity to develop a combined early and late phase platform. 


roles and responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and test a new equipment for drug substance handling in compounding and continuous operations. 

  •  Process development focused on defining the parameters of the drug substance handling in the manufacturing process (control strategy development). 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Process Development, Production, Automation, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs. 

  • Translate user and process requirements into technical specifications and design concepts. 

  • Conduct risk assessments, design reviews, and support qualification and validation activities. 

  • Interface with external partners and suppliers for technical development and component sourcing. 

  • Ensure documentation is compliant with GMP and internal standards. 

  • Author technical reports and present data to peers and functional management. 



how to succeed


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Bioengineering, Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical) or related field. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment design and development or qualification, preferably in a GMP setting. 

  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, process data processing (PI System) and automation in a GMP-regulated environment.  

  • Good communication skills and demonstrating leadership working with cross functional/matrix teams is helpful.  

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo). 

  • Fluent in German and English (minimum C1 level). 

  • Solid knowledge of GMP regulations and ISO standards. 

  • Experience in project management 

  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
