Location: Limerick, Ireland - Hybrid working - 3 days a week on site
Duration: Until end of the year - 12 month extension from Jan
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at Johnson’s & Johnson’s Technology Services, Limerick. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and the installation and management of Apache Airflow. A strong understanding of unit testing, particularly code-level tests, and familiarity with API development are also essential for success in this role.
You will play a crucial role in streamlining our development and deployment processes, ensuring efficient and reliable operations of our cloud infrastructure, and driving automation to support manufacturing teams. roles and responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable, and secure deployment of applications.
Manage and optimize the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
Install, configure, and maintain Apache Airflow for orchestrating complex workflows and data pipelines.
Collaborate with software engineering teams to implement and enforce best practices in unit testing, focusing on code-level testing strategies.
Work closely with API developers to streamline development, deployment, and scaling processes, ensuring seamless integration between development and operations.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and system monitoring to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, addressing any performance issues, failures, or other incidents to minimize downtime.
Stay up to date with the latest DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the infrastructure and deployment processes.
how to succeed
Bachelors in Technology Sciences, or related field preferred.
5 yrs of relevant experience in a highly regulated industry (preferred in MedTech/Pharma)
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in leading complex projects.
Must be able to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to senior management effectively.
Must have good organizational and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to lead and influence others at all levels within the organization.
Good facilitation skills and ability to work across organizations and unite diverse individuals with disparate goals and enable productive discussion and outcomes.
Strong influencer with the ability to successfully navigate change and drive success across teams.
Good organizational, planning and prioritization skills; good oral and written communication skills.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run until the end of the year and then with the view to be extended for 12 months.
