roles and responsibilities

This position is in the antibody downstream process development lab group. The team develop, scale up and trouble shoot downstream manufacturing processes in the lab. You will:

  • Support Early Phase Downstream Process development activities by writing protocols, execution of laboratory Process Development studies (Chromatography, VIN, Viral Filtration & UFDF) and completion of associated Technical Reports.  

  • Supports Tech Transfer activities of laboratory scale processes to manufacturing operations.          

  • Supports process fit to plant and during early stages of Process development to provide guidance to both development and manufacturing teams.       

  • Provides Technical support during manufacturing campaigns and process development activities


how to succeed

You will bring:

  • A degree (BSc, MSc, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or engineering field, such as Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Recent hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, ideally in downstream or upstream process development 

  • Expertise with techniques such as filtration (e.g., ultrafiltration/diafiltration) or chromatography preferred

  • Proficiency in analytical methods or experience in process development, including designing, optimising and scaling processes for biological products.

  • Ability to write protocols and technical reports, documenting experiments and results clearly and accurately.

  • Project management experience is preferable

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for a 12 month duration and has a strong chance of extension.
