We are searching for the best talent for an EHS Specialist to be in Sassenheim, Netherlands! BU5-LVV in Sassenheim is a new Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain Lentiviral Vector (LVV) production facility, designed to support the global Johnson & Johnson BCMA CAR-T program for multiple myeloma—a disease affecting ~160,000 patients annually. This state-of-the-art biologics manufacturing site will play a key role in advancing patient care. As an EHS Specialist, you will ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment within Operations.
You will be the go-to expert for EHS topics, working closely with manufacturing specialists, operators, engineers, and EHS representatives. roles and responsibilities.
You will be the primary contact for all EHS-related topics within the Business Unit and facility.
This will involve:
Being the primary contact for all EHS-related topics within the Business Unit and facility.
Leading and facilitate incident investigations and ensure proper reporting.
Coaching and guide EHS Representatives/Ambassadors on the shop floor.
Performing EHS assessments for projects and process changes.
Supporting risk assessments (facility, ergonomic, chemical, biosafety) and mitigation plans.
Preparing for and participate in internal/external audits (ISO 14001/45001, J&J audits, governmental inspections).
Collaborating with the EHS department, Biosafety Officer, and Operational Standard Owners.
Monitoring EHS performance through data analysis and define improvement actions.
Developing a multi-year EHS strategy aligned with site objectives.
how to succeed.
You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Engineering and 2–4 years of operational experience in biotechnology or biopharmaceutical environments.
You will also bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety (e.g., HVK, Industrial Hygiene) or Bio-process/Chemical/Process Engineering.
2–4 years of operational experience in biotechnology or biopharmaceutical environments.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical/bio-processing principles and GMP standards.
Strong communication skills in English (Dutch preferred).
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle uncertainties, escalate issues clearly, and adapt communication style.

This contract will run for 6 months. It is an on-site position based in Sassenheim. Travel to the Leiden site may be required at times. Open to 32-40 hours per week.
