I am currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst / Cost Accountant to join DePuy in Cork, this is a 12 month contract initially. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant and will  have experience working in a Multinational Company in a similar role. 


The  Financial Analyst/Cost accountant is responsible for providing financial support and accounting analysis across multiple areas. This position will be required to support many aspects of the business.



MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

BUSINESS PARTNERING 

  • Provide business partnering support to the business. 
  • Drive accountability across the business.


SOX & INTERNAL CONTROL 

  • Support any requirements from External and internal auditors 
  • Provide support to ensure all accounting and reporting procedures comply with SOX and internal control guidelines 


BUSINESS SUPPORT

  • Reviews account analysis
  • Monitors the audits, identification and correction of discrepancies and variances in various accounting reports.
  • Prepares financial statements or supporting documentation.
  • Performs monthly closing activities within the department
  • Assesses and reports on improvements to accounting system processes, policies and procedures.


J.D. EDWARDS SYSTEM 

  • Support the implementation of system enhancements 
  • Continuously improving controls.


BUSINESS PLANNING 

  • Lead/Support the annual business planning.
  • Perform periodic updates to the Business Plan 


MISCELLANEOUS 

  • Continuous Improvement Focus 
  • Perform any other duties as required from time to time. 
  • To adhere to the company?s procedures at all times. 
  • Ensure all quality and health & safety policies are adhered to. 



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years post qualification experience within a large Multinational Company
  • Qualified Accountant (preferably CIMA / ACA). 
  • Good personal computer skills - ideally Microsoft Office. 
  • Experience on a computerized accounting package - ideally JD EDWARDS 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and willing to work in a flexible environment.
